Headed out of Seatac on a red-eye flight…
F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote this letter to his 11-year-old daughter, Scottie:
Things to worry about:
Worry about courage
Worry about cleanliness
Worry about efficiency
Worry about horsemanshipThings not to worry about:
Don’t worry about popular opinion
Don’t worry about dolls

It’s 100 degrees back home and all this week it will be 70s/30s here. I couldn’t bear the heat back there for less than a week. It’s odd how quickly we adapt. This is a roadside view of the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge off I-5 at sunrise. I pass it everyday and I hope that I never take it’s beauty for granted.
I keep going out and taking a bunch of pictures and only liking one when I get home and start looking at them. This is The One from our trip to Watershed Park in Olympia. What a horrible name for such a beautiful place! It sounds like it would be nothing more than the runoff from all the streets after the rain. It’s actually a park that’s been there since the 1800s around a natural spring, and it’s a perfect example of the lush beauty that is WA State.

We spent the weekend in Seattle and my husband was my sans-camera shooting buddy. We have got to get this man a camera; he’s got a good eye. We found this weird Escher type park and crawled around on the concrete with the kids. This place is just so visually interesting that coming here is like being Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and waking up in technicolor after the storm.
